Beyond her writing, Carruth is a dedicated philanthropist and community leader. In recognition of her contributions to literature and community, she has been selected to the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in December 2025 and will be honored by the American Cancer Society at the annual Tickled Pink Luncheon in April 2026.
