Nevada Insurance Enrollment Explains That Coronavirus Tests Will Be Covered by Health Insurance
LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- With the coronavirus rapidly sweeping the globe, testing is essential. Officials want people to get tested. COVID-19 testing is considered "preventative" with a "Qualified Health Plan", so there is no co-pay or cost involved. If Nevadan's are unaware of this particular fact, they may worry about getting a surprise bill for COVID-19 testing, and may not get the test at all. Health insurance CEO's have collaborated with government officials and vowed that those who have health insurance won't have to worry about surprise bills for COVID-19 testing. All Co-pays for Coronavirus testing will be waived.
Health Insurance Companies Waive Co-Pays for COVID-19 Testing
Approximately 240 million Americans have health insurance through private insurance, Medicare or Medicaid. With the number of coronavirus cases growing rapidly throughout the country, lawmakers wanted to get the word out that those who have health insurance will not receive unexpected bills for COVID-19 testing. Health insurance companies also agreed to cover the cost of telemedicine which allows patients to speak with a doctor over the phone. Coverage will be extended for the treatment of COVID-19, but beyond testing (like hospitalization) your deductible and co-insurance will most likely still apply.

Many Americans Are Without Health Insurance
It is an unfortunate fact that about 27.5 million Americans are without health insurance. The government has entertained the possibility of utilizing a federal disaster relief program to reimburse costs incurred to hospitals and other healthcare providers who treat those without health insurance for the coronavirus. Medical bills can add up quickly, meaning many uninsured Americans will delay testing for fear that they will rack up hefty bills. This puts more people at risk of becoming gravely ill or even dying from the novel coronavirus. In addition to the health implications, failure to get tested will allow the virus to spread.
