WASHINGTON, Feb. 3, 2025 ~ The International Franchise Association (IFA) has announced its 2024 Entrepreneur of the Year, Richard Weissman, Co-Founder, CEO and Chairman of The Learning Experience. This prestigious award is given to individuals who have shown exceptional entrepreneurial vision and success in the franchise industry.
Weissman's journey in the business world began at a young age when he worked at his parents' childcare center. After acquiring an international childcare franchise with his father, they eventually retired from that venture and launched The Learning Experience in 2002. The following year, they began franchising the brand.
Today, The Learning Experience has over 420 locations in 31 states across the U.S. and three locations in the U.K., making it one of the leading childcare franchises in the world. Known for its high-quality childcare and innovative early education curriculum, The Learning Experience has become a trusted brand among families.
Matt Haller, IFA President and CEO, praised Weissman's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to providing high-quality childcare and innovative educational practices. He stated that through his vision and passion, Weissman has not only built a successful business but also made a lasting impact on children, families, and communities.

He acknowledged the organization's role in supporting franchise businesses and credited his team members and franchisees for their dedication to making a positive difference in children's lives.
As CEO and Chairman of The Learning Experience, Weissman has successfully navigated through various challenges over the years, including economic downturns and a global pandemic. Despite these obstacles, he continued to grow the franchise beyond expectations while maintaining a clear vision for its future.
The Learning Experience currently has over 50,000 children enrolled in its centers nationwide. With 66% of its centers owned by multi-unit franchise owners, it is evident that Weissman's leadership has made it a franchise of choice for fellow entrepreneurs. The company is also expanding at an impressive pace, with an average of 1.5 new centers opening each week and over 250 locations in development.
