IRVINE, Calif. - nvtip -- Susteen, a mobile data forensics and digital investigation solutions provider, has released a new evidence data acquisition tool, the Techno Data Kit, as an extension for the company's DATAPILOT 10 handheld field triage device.
The Techno Data Kit enhances the DATAPILOT 10's ability to quickly acquire comprehensive mobile device data on-scene from a number of external media devices, including SDXC and Micro SD cards; USB thumb and external drives; MS, CF, M2 cards; and hard drives.
"With the Techno Data Kit extension for the DATAPILOT, first responders can acquire, view and parse physical and logical data from a target device quickly on-scene, from any type of mobile device, so investigators get the information they need immediately," said Jeremy Kirby, Director of Sales at Susteen.
Designed for rapid acquisition, viewing and reporting of mobile and digital media devices, the DATAPILOT 10 and Techno Data Kit allows first responders access to data on-scene so they can review photos, videos, and other documents, then triage on-scene. This allows first responders to make informed decisions and carry out judicial duties without having to wait on a forensic analysis from the lab, a process that can take weeks.

DATAPILOT is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. When combined with the Techno Data Kit extension, it can also access and instantly view evidence data from external media devices that use SD cards and external USB drives.
This capability is particularly beneficial when a witness or victim is concerned about how long they will be without their mobile device while it is analyzed in a forensics lab. Using DATAPILOT with the Techno Data Kit, law enforcement personnel can easily view and acquire data relevant to the case, then quickly return the devices to their respective owners.
The Techno Data Kit and DATAPILOT help first responders get the evidence they need right on-scene, so they can quickly take action. For cases that require a deeper forensic analysis, data acquired from the Techno Data Kit and DATAPILOT can be exported easily into other digital forensic tools to promote speedier investigations.
