LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Partner John S. Delikanakis has been elected Board Trustee of the African American Archive of Columbia County, New York. The Archive of Columbia County, New York is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing the history of African Americans in Columbia County, from their arrival in the 17th century to present day.
The Archive was founded in 2021 and aims to forge a deeper understanding of the lived historical experience of Black people in the Hudson Valley, for the benefit of both their descendants and the world at large. Since its inception, the Archive has become the steward of pre-20th century Black history in the county. Having developed relationships and collaborated with many historians, academics, genealogists, and historical organizations, it is now an invaluable resource for those interested in the history of Hudson Valley.
Delikanakis is a seasoned litigator with the firm's Litigation, Investigations, and Trials Practice Group, and is based in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. As former associate general counsel for an international Fortune 500 company, he has a deep understanding of what in-house counsel and commercial clients need and expect of their outside litigators: practical, business forward advice and efficient, aggressive, and effective litigation strategies. His practice ranges from litigating simple and complex cases in various courts and arbitration tribunals across the nation to counseling the C-suite on how to best avoid litigation. His recent caseload is concentrated on professional liability matters, real estate disputes, business dissolutions, trade secret theft, contracts for the sale of goods, and commercial guaranty matters.
