The First ~ Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Aces, the reigning champions of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), have just received a major financial boost from their hometown. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) announced today that they will be sponsoring each player on the team for the next two years, in a first-of-its-kind deal.
According to LVCVA President and CEO Steve Hill, the sponsorship agreement was brokered directly with each player's agent and will provide $100,000 per year to every active player for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. Hill expressed his excitement about this groundbreaking collaboration, stating that "these players have put a national spotlight on Las Vegas" and are "the perfect ambassadors for our city." He also highlighted how this partnership aligns with the growing popularity of women's professional sports and further boosts Las Vegas' reputation as a top sports tourism destination.
