Starting with open nominations, fifteen finalists were chosen by a panel of judges including OBWS Founder Mandy Bowman, Brianne Garrett of Forbes, Imani Ellis of The CCNYC & CULTURECON, Courtney Blount of Snap Inc, and Serial Entrepreneur Everette Taylor. The winners were then voted for by the wider Official Black Wall Street community.
