The evolving comedy musical introduces a one-hour showcase version tailored for festivals and new-works programs.

LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- As the comedy musical Shangri-La-La-La moves into its next phase of development, the creative team has created a condensed, 1-hour version, reflecting the show's evolving tone, heightened comedy, and musical exuberance.

The musical has undergone readings, previews, and workshop development, and now exists in multiple formats. In addition to the full-length version, a newly created one-hour festival and showcase version is available, designed specifically for theaters, development programs, and new-works initiatives.

This shorter version focuses on the outsized cultural influence of Siegfried & Roy and Steve Wynn, and how their vision reshaped Las Vegas by ushering in the era of large-scale "family entertainment"—transforming the city from adult playground into global spectacle.

"The one-hour version was carefully designed, not simply cut for time," said Mike Meier. "It retains the show's most distinctive features—its visual scale, musical energy, and theatrical imagery, including the large-scale dragon—while sharpening the story for festivals and development settings."

Shangri-La-La-La continues in active development, with festival submissions, readings, and presentations underway. Additional announcements will follow as the project moves toward its next milestones.
