New GroundComm program offers $25 promotional credit per qualifying broken or INOP pushback communication cable, regardless of brand, toward a new GroundComm X30.
LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- ," the program provides a $25 GroundComm X30 Promotional Trade-In Credit for every qualifying INOP pushback communication cable received, inspected and approved by Elevate Aviation.
The submitted cable does not have to be a GroundComm product. Cables from any manufacturer or brand may qualify.
"Once a station knows a communication cable is broken, intermittent or no longer trusted, we want to help get it completely out of the operation," said Tyler Wolfe, Executive Vice President and Co-Founder of Elevate Aviation. "A bad cable sitting around the tug or equipment area creates another opportunity for it to mistakenly make its way back into service."
The Federal Aviation Administration identifies proper communication as critical during aircraft towing operations. FAA towing guidance also emphasizes serviceable equipment, pre-use inspection and removing equipment from service when defects could affect safety.

Elevate Aviation developed the program around a simple concept: remove known-bad equipment from circulation while helping operators offset the cost of replacing it.
How It Works
Participants register their INOP pushback communication cables through the online GroundComm trade-in portal and receive a unique Submission ID.
The participant then ships the cables to Elevate Aviation for inspection. Shipping and postage are paid by the participant, not Elevate Aviation.
After inspection, each qualifying cable earns one $25 promotional credit toward one new GroundComm X30 purchased through The Crew Hangar.
Credits cannot be redeemed for cash, are non-transferable and cannot be stacked against the same GroundComm X30.
"Cash for Cables" is a marketing term only; no cash payments are issued.
In addition to removing questionable equipment from operations, Elevate X plans to use information collected from submitted cables—including manufacturer, cable color, failure type and failure location—to better understand real-world pushback communication cable failure patterns.

"Our goal isn't to collect good cables," Wolfe said. "We want the cables operations have already determined shouldn't be on the ramp. Get the bad cable out, help the station replace it, and keep the operation moving."
