HENDERSON, Nev. - nvtip -- Be part of the solution by supporting the First Annual ABF Gala, June 6-7, 2025, hosted by Resorts World Las Vegas. This two-day event will bring together leaders, advocates and supporters wanting to change the landscape of mental health care.
"Mental health is a growing crisis in America and around the world," Reggie Burton, Avery Burton Foundation (ABF) Founder, said. "Nevada ranks 51st in the nation for youth mental health services, struggling with high rates of mental illness and low access to care, according to Mental Health America, 2022.
"Statewide in Nevada, there is just one mental health professional for every 460 residents," Burton added. "And every county throughout the state is federally designated as having a mental health provider shortage, as identified by UNLV/Brookings Mountain West in 2023."
Scheduled events for the gala include:
June 6 - Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) youth certification training, equipping attendees with lifesaving skills.
June 7 - The ABF Gala hosts a dinner and silent and live auctions. The Mental Health Champions Awards will be presented with guest speakers and a special interview segment. Marie Mortera from KSNV News 3 will serve as the event MC.
"The ABF Gala is a great opportunity for companies to align their brands with a worthwhile cause, dedicated to changing lives of individuals and families affected by mental health illness," ABF Board Member Christina Aldan of Arana Software said. "By sponsoring the ABF Gala, you will support mental health training, education and scholarships. Together, we can train more Mental Health Champions and build stronger and healthier communities."
