One of the highlights of the conference will be the first General Session led by Kimberly Brandt, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Administrator at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In addition to these sessions, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn from three legal and compliance experts in a session titled "The State of New York vs. The National Rifle Association: Lessons in Nonprofit Compliance and Governance." This session will address one of the biggest non-profit enforcement actions in recent years as well as explore the risks and pitfalls of ineffective oversight. The panelists for this session include Daniel Roach, Interim CEO of SCCE & HCCA with over 40 years of experience as a compliance officer, attorney, and general counsel; James Sheehan, Chief of the Charities Bureau at the Office of Attorney General for the State of New York; and Emily Stern, Chief of Enforcement Section at the Charities Bureau for NY AG.
