Health Insurance: What is Medicaid?

Curious About Medicaid? Nevada Insurance Enrollment Explains

LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- This is a joint state/federal health insurance program that is administered by the state.  It provides health coverage for low-income individuals, especially pregnant women, children and the disabled.

Nevada Has Chosen to Expand Medicaid

If your income is under 138% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and you are under age 65 you may qualify for Medicaid.  Now adults with or without children, women pregnant, or not pregnant, are now eligible for Medicaid with this new Affordable Care Act (ACA) law, depending on their income.

There is no reason if you are low income to not have health insurance coverage in Nevada. Because even being in a low-income bracket doesn't guarantee that you won't face a serious injury or illness, and you might find yourself with a boatload of medical bills, whether you can afford them or not.

Understanding Which Health Insurance Coverage You Should Apply For

Wading through the different types of health insurance options that are available can be a challenge, especially when you have budgetary considerations to consider. Choosing Medicaid or Obamacare is not something you can do. Qualifying for Medicaid or Obamacare is based on your income and family size. That's not something you can decide but is already pre-calculated by your income. Fortunately, our health insurance agents specialize in helping people in all income brackets find the best coverage for their needs and budget. At Nevada Insurance Enrollment, our health insurance agents help you without any costs to you. Their help will NOT raise your costs and they can find and help you apply for health insurance coverage for an Obamacare plan OR enroll into a health insurance plan "Off Exchange" (without a Government subsidy).
