Recent Southern Utah University graduate turns pro, sets sights on upcoming APGA tournament.
LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- Las Vegas professional golfer Rashon Williams is set to compete at the upcoming APGA at Scottsdale tournament, June 2-4, 2025. The tournament will take place at the TPC Scottsdale – Champions Course.
As Williams finished up his collegiate career on Southern Utah University's (SUU) golf team, he earned a top five collegiate Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) ranking which secured him full tournament and travel support on the APGA tour through 2026. Shortly after graduating SUU, the 22-year-old Williams turned professional.
"Being a part of the APGA is a huge opportunity for me," said Williams. "The level of competition, the exposure and the resources available to me all push me to elevate my game. I'll be learning from other pros, gaining confidence and preparing myself for the next level."

Williams was born in Las Vegas and started golfing at the age of two. A family affair, Williams' dad, Mario Williams, coached him along with his older sister, Aliyah Williams, their entire lives. Aliyah Williams is a professional golfer, UNLV alumna and played on the UNLV golf team. Williams' mom, Irene Williams, is also a presence for support and guidance. "Having my dad as my coach has been a huge advantage," said Williams. "He knows my game better than anyone and understands how to push me while also supporting me. I'm also very lucky to have the family that I have. My sister is a source of inspiration and motivation. We are all very close as a family and we work well together."
Williams is dedicated to the sport with aspirations to make it to the highest level – the PGA Tour. Growing up as a multi-sport athlete, Williams ultimately gravitated to golf due to embracing the challenge that every round was a new challenge. "I'm committed to competing, learning and growing. I want to represent Las Vegas, myself, my family and everyone who supported me," said Williams.

For the remainder of 2025, Williams plans to compete in over 10 more tournaments which includes the remainder of the APGA tour schedule along with additional events that can be coordinated between APGA events.

Rashon is a graduate of Southern Utah University (class of 2025) with a Bachelor of Business Administration (marketing concentration). Rashon played on the SUU Thunderbirds golf team.
Rashon Williams began golfing at the age of two and has been coached by his dad, Mario Williams, his entire career. Mario Williams is a graduate of the Golf Academy of America with an Associate of Applied Business degree in Golf Operations and Management. Rashon's sister, Aliyah Williams, is one-year older and is also a professional golfer.
