Anders's campaign already has the backing of Millbrae and regional officials, including Millbrae Mayor Reuben Holobor and three other Millbrae council members, Millbrae School Board Vice President Don Revelo and two other Millbrae School Board trustees, Millbrae Parks and Recreation Commission Chair Julie Turner, San Mateo County Supervisor Dave Pine, San Mateo County Sheriff, Carlos Bolanos, Peninsula Healthcare District Board Member Helen Galligan, and many other endorsers.

Anders has lived in Millbrae with his wife and two children since 2009. He serves as a Millbrae Planning Commissioner and served as chair from 2019-2020. While a planning commissioner, Millbrae approved two Transit-Oriented Development projects, negotiated for low-income housing, pushed developers to increase buildings' sustainability, and advocated for union labor and teacher housing. His professional work combines economic development and housing development with a focus on fiscal responsibility and budget optimization. A Millbrae resident for more than a decade, Anders understands what makes Millbrae ideal for families and he is committed to protecting and improving it.
