As Spirit Sword's main character Cale Tannor deals with uncertainty and grief, the author hits on many themes young adults - especially boys- are currently facing such as loneliness, isolation, and powerlessness. The author, Sam Ford, uses his characters to help audiences understand the concepts of integrity and the challenges, as well as the unfairness, associated with life. It's an underdog story with a truly new adventurous twist.
"Dark times are always going to be with us. It's how we chose to respond that matters," said author Sam Ford. "I wanted to inspire people, to give them hope. I want to offer the tools they might need to stand on their own two feet and face an uncertain future."

Written while taking care of an ailing parent during a global pandemic, Ford sacrificed his job and personal life, not only to be a full-time caregiver, but to also embrace his own adventure - writing his passion, and finding his voice as an author.
The characters created by Sam Ford for Spirit Sword are realistic, complex, and especially relatable. The young adult audience can easily identify with Cale Tannor, a young man whose family is tragically killed and his world is turned upside down. As the audience meets Sword - the last of a race of sentient weapons, they discover long-forgotten truths whispered into Cale's ear. Jazreal Bloodmoon, an Indian huntress who seeks vengeance above all, and the mysterious Ranger Vyk Draco, a man who's past is only overshadowed by his future are also amid a great cast of characters. Through time, space, and the most unique of circumstances, they discover they have more commonalities than differences. Together they can overcome the darkness in the world.
Spirit Sword is available at three very affordable price points. In stock now at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords, as well as many great booksellers the world over, this global seller is the perfect reading project to fill the endless virtual school projects.
