HENDERSON, Nev. - nvtip -- The Avery Burton Foundation (ABF), a non-profit 501c3 dedicated to helping those in need with mental health advocacy, outreach and educational resources announced Christina Aldan has joined its Board of Directors as Secretary.
"We are delighted to have Christina join our Board. Her commitment to helping those in mental health crisis by removing the stigma through education and storytelling is in perfect alignment with our mission,'' said Reggie Burton, Founder and President of ABF.
Aldan, a consultant with Las Vegas-based global tech company Arana Software, is active in the community as a student mentor and recently became certified in Mental Health First Aid (MFHA) for adults assisting youth.

Founded in 2019, ABF offers outreach, education resources and MFHA tips to schools, colleges, students, families, businesses and organizations. Additionally, ABF provides annual scholarships to graduating high school students through the "Avery Burton Excellence in Academics and Sports" Scholarship.
This year the foundation is awarding five $1,000 dollar scholarships to Henderson high school seniors in partnership with the Public Education Foundation.
The foundation is named after Avery Burton, a graduate of Foothill High School and the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He took his life after a major depressive episode in 2017. To learn about Avery's story, visit www.averyburtonfoundation.org.
