Veteran Las Vegas Sports Executive Patrick Lindsey Named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LAS VEGAS, March 5, 2025 ~ Las Vegas Motor Speedway has announced the appointment of Patrick Lindsey as their new senior vice president and general manager. The 44-year-old sports executive brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the executive director of the Shriners Children's Open PGA Tour event in Las Vegas since 2015.

Lindsey's extensive background in sports management and event operations makes him a perfect fit for the position. He has consistently delivered exceptional results and built strong partnerships throughout the region during his time with Shriners. Prior to this, Lindsey spent nine years with the PGA Tour, gaining valuable knowledge and honing his leadership skills in various roles.

Speedway Motorsports President and CEO Marcus Smith expressed his confidence in Lindsey, stating that he is a "tremendous addition" to the team. Smith believes that Lindsey's experience in event management, strategic leadership, and community engagement will continue to drive the speedway's success into its next chapter.

Lindsey will be taking over from Chris Powell, who has been at the helm of Las Vegas Motor Speedway for over 26 years. Powell will be retiring after the upcoming March 14-16 Pennzoil 400 NASCAR race weekend. During his tenure, Powell played a significant role in transforming the speedway into one of the premier motorsports venues and tourism destinations in the country.

Originally from Spruce Pine, North Carolina, Lindsey is a graduate of UNC Greensboro and holds an MBA from St. Thomas University in Florida. He and his wife, Kristyn, have two sons, Wesley (12) and Caleb (7).
