Jay Harris to lead a workshop for Clarkson University, New York
LAS VEGAS - nvtip -- Arana Software announces founder Jay Harris will be presenting his talk "Permission to Change" as part of Clarkson University's Knight Class series of workshops on Thursday, February 25, 5:00 pm EST.
Knight Class is a series of professional development workshops with a focus on topics beneficial to life after graduation that are not covered in the classroom. 2021 marks the fifth year that Clarkson is providing these workshops to students. Knight Class is intended for the entire student body, which includes The Clarkson School, Undergraduates, and Masters students. Workshops are alumni-led and are a great way to show students the importance of giving back. This year's event will take place online via Zoom.
"Permission to Change" tackles the fear most people experience when faced with change. Inevitable as it may be, change is often something people resist, fearing the unknown, anticipating bad results, doubting their own ability to perform, afraid they may let other's down by failing to meet expectations. This presentation looks at the other side of change — staying the course — and how equally unpredictable that can be as you barrel toward the unknown. What you need isn't courage; to free yourself, you need to give yourself permission. Permission to move forward. Permission to begin. You need to give yourself permission to change.

Erica Richards, Assistant Director Alumni Relations, Clarkson University said, "I met Jay Harris '01 through a Clarkson story collecting initiative as he submitted a piece about his time at Clarkson. The Knight Class program is aimed towards all grade levels and focuses on 'soft skills' that are not learned in the classroom but are immensely important to life after Clarkson. Knight Class seemed like a perfect fit for Jay to share his experiences with the students and give back to them through this professional development program. We are looking forward to Jay's workshop titled, "Permission to Change" and for sharing valuable 'life after graduation' material!"
