Diagnosing and treating PAD early can mean the difference between saving or losing a limb, and in some cases saving a life. "Feet can be a warning sign, if it's happening in the feet it's happening in other organs of the body. Chest pain and new facial droop are obvious signs of atherosclerosis. If it's happening in one organ, it's likely happening in more," explains Evans.

The good news about PAD is that there's hope. Diagnosing and treating PAD has come a long way over the past 20 years.
