New Firm Serves Clients Across the South Carolina Lowcountry in Criminal Defense, Civil Litigation, Probate, and Land Use Matters.
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - nvtip -- Attorney Bart J. Stegall has opened Stegall Law in Summerville after nearly two decades of public service as a prosecutor, county attorney and Army National Guard judge advocate.
The firm represents individuals, families and businesses throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry in criminal defense, DUI and traffic matters, civil litigation, probate and estate matters, and land use and zoning.
Stegall said opening the firm is the next step in a career focused on helping people navigate significant legal challenges.
"Legal matters are deeply personal," Stegall said. "Whether a case affects someone's freedom, family, livelihood or property, every client deserves an attorney who listens, communicates honestly and understands what is at stake."
Unlike many larger firms, clients work directly with Stegall throughout their case, from the initial consultation through its resolution. "My name is on the door because my responsibility to each client is personal," Stegall said. "People deserve clear answers, direct access to their attorney, and confidence that someone is standing firmly in their corner."

A South Carolina native and Lowcountry resident of nearly 30 years, Stegall graduated from The Citadel before earning his law degree from the Charleston School of Law. He served on the school's Honor Court and the Federal Courts Law Review before clerking for Judge Brian M. Gibbons of South Carolina's Sixth Judicial Circuit.
Stegall began his legal career with the 13th Circuit Solicitor's Office before joining the 9th Circuit Solicitor's Office, where he prosecuted felony cases involving homicide, armed robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking and other violent crimes.
He later served as an assistant county attorney for Berkeley County, handling civil litigation, contract disputes, tax sale matters and legal issues involving county government.
Stegall also serves as a Judge Advocate in the South Carolina Army National Guard, where he has held leadership positions in military justice during an overseas deployment and continues his military service.
He said those experiences have shaped the philosophy behind his practice.
