SAN FRANCISCO, July 11, 2024 ~ The Open Mainframe Project has announced the schedule for its highly anticipated sessions at the IBM TechXchange Conference 2024. The conference, which will take place from October 21-24 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, is expected to draw over 5,000 technical attendees and feature more than 1,000 sessions, demos, labs, and discussions.
Attendees can look forward to a variety of engaging sessions hosted by the Open Mainframe Project as part of the Pre-Conference Day/User Group Meetups on October 21. These sessions promise valuable insights and learning opportunities for attendees at all levels.
The schedule includes keynote speeches on topics such as open source, Zowe use cases, diversity in the mainframe community, and mentorships. Attendees can also attend presentations on various projects such as COBOL Check, COBOL Programming Course, Feilong, Galasa, Linux Distributions Working Group, and Mainframe Open Education. Additionally, there will be deep dives into Zowe and z/OS open tools.
Some of the highlighted sessions include "Shared Threats: Web Application Vulnerabilities and the z/OS Environment" by Michelle Eggers from NetSPI; "Reflections on Open Source Leadership" by Donna Hudi from Phoenix Software International and Louisa Seers from IBM; "Is That Available on the Mainframe? An Open Source Software Journey" by Elizabeth Joseph from IBM; and "Turbocharging the Mainframe Developer Experience with Zowe and Code4z" by Vaughn Marshall from Broadcom.
