Presented by Arizona Technology Council and Arizona Commerce Authority, Annual Event Celebrates the Visionaries Making Critical Contributions to Technology in Arizona
PHOENIX - nvtip -- GT Medical Technologies, Inc. today announced it was named a winner of the Innovator of the Year in the small company category at the 2021 Governor's Celebration of Innovation, presented live on stage by the Arizona Technology Council and the Arizona Commerce Authority on October 13. GT Medical Technologies received this accolade in recognition of GammaTile® Therapy, its Surgically Targeted Radiation Therapy (STaRT), developed to prevent or significantly delay the recurrence of operable brain tumors.
"We are honored to receive recognition for this innovative technology that overcomes the limitations of current brain tumor radiation treatments, raises the standard of care, and improves quality of life," said Matthew E. Likens, president, and CEO of GT Medical Technologies, Inc. "Since beginning full market release of GammaTile Therapy in the U.S. in March, 2020, over 50 major brain tumor treatment centers have adopted GT with many more in the pipeline. There have been few improvements in outcomes for these patients over the last 15 years so GT represents a major step forward."
