LAS VEGAS, NV – April 23, 2025 — Virtue Recovery Center has announced an expanded partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), reinforcing their shared commitment to combat one of the most urgent and heartbreaking challenges facing America's Veterans: suicide.
On average, 17 Veterans die by suicide every day (https://news.va.gov/137221/va-2024-suicide-prev... number that demands not just attention, but action. For Michael Banis, Chief Development Officer at Virtue Recovery Center, it's a mission rooted in deep compassion.

The VA's latest report paints a sobering picture: 6,407 Veterans died by suicide in 2022, with the highest rates among those under 45. Suicide remains the second-leading cause of death in this age group. Veterans with mental health or substance use disorders face a 91% higher risk, underscoring the urgent need for care that's both specialized and accessible.
Virtue Recovery Center has already helped more than 1,200 Veterans over the past four years, offering trauma-informed care (https://www.virtuerecoverycenter.com/treatment/trauma-informed-addiction-recovery-effective-compassionate-care/) that includes inpatient, outpatient, and long-term recovery programs. The expanded partnership aims to broaden access, strengthen on-the-ground support, and provide resources for issues like PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction.

Congressman Mark Takano, a vocal advocate for Veteran mental health, stressed the collective responsibility:
"As long as 17 Veterans die by suicide each day, our work will not be finished."
"It will take all of us—legislators, researchers, caregivers, and VA staff—working together to reduce Veteran suicide."
Virtue Recovery's care model is simple but powerful: trust, respect, and connection. Veterans are treated by professionals who understand them—not just clinically, but personally.
This isn't just a partnership. It's a promise: no Veteran gets left behind.
